Stone Therapy Massage

The ancient healing art of stone massage, a modality for physical and spiritual balancing, uses various massage techniques along with warm or cold stones, to relax the body at its deepest level and assists the energy flow within to direct the vital flow to, and through, areas of blockage.

The stone’s thermal conduction effect brings about local and systemic changes in the body. Mineral stones are well known for their heat or cold retention properties. The reflex effect of warm and cold stones can be used to either send blood to an Ischemic area or remove blood from a hyperemic are.

Cold Marine Stones are excellent to use in the decongestion of specific areas, such as the sinuses; and for cooling areas after waxing, as well as reducing swelling in areas of injury.

Warm Stone applications aid in the treatment of conditions by stimulating an increase in blood flow, creating vasodilation of capillaries, which thereby increases blood, oxygen and lymphatic fluids to the cells (increasing cell metabolism by nourishing and detoxifying them); and allowing connective tissues to ‘melt’ back into their natural collagenous state (thereby releasing hinderences to blood flow).

Myofascial Release

Wraps:

Paraffin Treatment
Warm paraffin surrounds the skin with healing heat that increases circulation and opens pores. The moisture generated is sealed in, thirsty tissues are plumped and softened, and wrinkles and fine lines melt away. Dry, damaged skin is brought back to life! Treat all parts of the body.

Hands
Hands will be left dewy, soft and supple.

Feet
Feet are soft, supple and rejuvenated after massage.

Herbal Wrap
In an herbal wrap, the body is enveloped in warm linen sheets which have been soaked in a special blend of herbs. The herbs induce perspiration to draw toxins from the skin. Relaxation is promoted by the deep heating action. Herbal wraps are often followed by a brief cool shower to lower the body temperature and tonify tissue.

Mud Wrap
This treatment is particularly beneficial before massage due to its cleansing, purifying and healing properties.
Clays are naturally absorbent of toxins and add concentrated mineral salts into our micro-molecular structure. The clays stimulate, re-mineralize, cleanse, purify, and heal the cells and tissues of the body. First, a gentle exfoliation is done. Next, relax while we apply the mud from head to toe. The mud is then allowed to do its work. Finish with a shower, or add a massage.

Waxing:

Waxing/Depilatory
Both women and men appreciate the organic warm wax system that quickly and effectively removes unwanted hair. Since removal occurs below the skin surface, re-growth is slower, often finer, and without the stubble that results from shaving. Waxing leaves brows, lips, chin, arms, and legs - any body-part - silky smooth.
